Manufacturing Engineer

A growing manufacturing organization is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to develop, implement, and improve manufacturing processes across its operations. This position will focus on continuous improvement, productivity, equipment implementation, process documentation, quality improvement, and new product launch support.
The Manufacturing Engineer will work closely with operations, quality, maintenance, engineering, vendors, and leadership to improve production performance while supporting compliance with applicable quality and environmental management systems, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and IATF 16949.
Key Responsibilities- Identify, develop, and lead continuous improvement and cost-reduction projects.
- Support the design, selection, installation, and implementation of new manufacturing equipment and processes.
- Perform equipment and tooling validation and maintain supporting documentation.
- Create and maintain manufacturing documentation, including process flows, PFMEAs, work instructions, standard work, and technical procedures.
- Implement manufacturing best practices and solutions that improve production rates, product quality, and operational efficiency.
- Lead improvement efforts related to scrap, cycle time, downtime, first-pass yield, OEE, warranty claims, and customer quality performance.
- Develop and maintain efficient manufacturing practices within molding and stamping operations, with an emphasis on Lean manufacturing.
- Assist with manufacturing workflows, production line layouts, and facility floor plans.
- Establish recommended spare-parts inventories and preventive maintenance plans for new equipment.
- Collect and analyze production data to identify improvement opportunities and prioritize projects.
- Support quality initiatives, including the development of mistake-proofing solutions and process controls.
- Assist with the creation and review of Control Plans.
- Monitor process parameters and verify that standard work and operating procedures remain accurate and are consistently followed.
- Research and compile technical information needed to support manufacturing and process documentation.
- Work cross-functionally with vendors, operations, maintenance, quality, and leadership.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree required;
Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, Business, or a related discipline preferred. - Experience evaluating, selecting, and implementing industrial manufacturing equipment.
- Experience leading the implementation of complex manufacturing equipment or production processes.
- Experience with automated manufacturing equipment is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and bills of material.
- Understanding of manufacturing process documentation, including PFMEAs, process flows, work instructions, and Control Plans.
- Strong structured problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.
- Strong project-management and organizational abilities.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Strong computer skills and the ability to analyze manufacturing and production data.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and nontechnical audiences.
- Ability to manage projects and responsibilities with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to establish effective working relationships with vendors, peers, production employees, and leadership.
- Manufacturing process improvement within molding, stamping, or related production environments.
- Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
- New product launches and production readiness activities.
- Equipment validation, tooling validation, and process qualification.
- Automotive manufacturing or experience working within an IATF 16949 environment.
