We are seeking a motivated Industrial Engineer to join our Manufacturing & Engineering team. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career engineer looking to develop expertise in manufacturing operations, facility design, plant layout, and process improvement within a home-building environment.
The Industrial Engineer will support production efficiency initiatives, facility improvement projects, workstation design, line balancing, and material flow optimization. This position offers significant exposure to operations, engineering, and continuous improvement activities that directly impact manufacturing performance.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in designing and optimizing plant layouts to improve productivity, safety, material flow, and space utilization.
- Conduct time studies and labor analyses to establish labor standards and improve operational efficiency.
- Support manufacturing line balancing initiatives to maximize throughput and minimize bottlenecks.
- Assist with workstation design and ergonomic improvements for assembly operations.
- Develop and maintain facility layouts, process flow diagrams, and manufacturing documentation.
- Evaluate material movement throughout the facility and recommend improvements to reduce handling and travel time.
- Support equipment installation, relocation, and commissioning projects.
- Analyze production data and identify opportunities for process improvements.li>
- Participate in facility expansion and production line improvement projects.
- Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Maintenance, and Engineering teams to implement manufacturing improvements.
- Support new product introductions by assisting with production planning and line setup activities.
- Participate in Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering or related engineering discipline.
- 0-3 years of manufacturing experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Internship or co-op experience in manufacturing.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Exposure to AutoCAD or similar layout design software.
- Experience with process mapping and time studies.
- Hands-on experience in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
