Job Title:
Brake Press Operator
Job Summary:
This position is responsible for setting up and operating brake press machines to bend, form, and shape metal parts according to specifications in a manufacturing and fabrication environment. The candidate will be expected to read and interpret blueprints, select proper tooling, inspect finished parts, and maintain a strong commitment to safety and quality. This position reports to the Production Supervisor.
Responsibilities and Duties:- Ensuring safety is always the #1 priority.
- Sets up and operates brake press machines in accordance with production specifications and work orders.
- Reads and interprets blueprints, drawings, and job instructions.
- Selects proper tooling and dies for each job and adjusts machine settings as needed.
- Inspects and measures finished parts for accuracy using calipers, tape measures, and other measuring tools.
- Monitors machine performance and makes necessary adjustments to ensure quality and efficiency.
- Performs routine maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment.
- Maintains a clean and organized work area.
- Follows all safety guidelines and company procedures.
- Maintains open communication with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and deadlines.
- Must communicate in a timely and effective manner.
- Must be able to follow directions and complete follow through with directions.
- One or more years of experience operating a brake press or other metal-forming equipment preferred.
- Ability to read technical drawings and use precision measuring instruments.
- Mechanical aptitude and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Basic math skills and understanding of measurements.
- Willingness to work overtime or different shifts if required.
- Manufacturing plant environment with exposure to heat, noise, and industrial equipment.
- Use of PPE in production settings required.
- Occasional lifting, bending, repetitive motion, and extended standing/walking.
- Off-shift, overtime, or weekend support may be required.
