The EXPERIENCED Swiss Lathe Operator is a full-time, on-site position located in Elkhart, IN. In this role, the operator runs Swiss-type CNC lathes to produce precision components according to engineering drawings and customer specifications. Day-to-day responsibilities include adjusting machine parameters, and monitoring production for dimensional accuracy and surface finish. The operator documents production and quality checks, and collaborates with quality and engineering teams to resolve issues.
The role also involves maintaining a clean and safe work area, following all safety policies, and contributing to process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce scrap.
- Ability to read and interpret technical and engineering drawings, including dimensional tolerances and symbols (Technical Drawing, Engineering Drawings).
- Proficiency in operating Swiss-type CNC lathes and related equipment and production monitoring (Machine Operation).
- Prior experience as a Swiss Lathe Operator or CNC machinist in a precision manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) and quality inspection procedures.
- Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in machining or manufacturing is preferred.
- Willingness to follow safety protocols, standard operating procedures, and continuous improvement practices.
