Mold Technician Level 1

Shift: 3rd shift

The Mold Technician will be primarily responsible for machine Set-Up in a fast pace and highly collaborative environment. This role involves ensuring the proper functioning of molds to produce high-quality parts efficiently. This is a 3rd shift position.

• Machine set-up and controls.

• Crane operation.

• Lift operation.

• Prepare molds for scheduled jobs.

• Change inserts as needed.

• Change date code as needed.

• Ensure knockouts are proper length and pattern.

• Check water lines.

• Prepare thermolater and set temperatures as needed.

• Set clamp tonnage as needed.

• Set core pull sequence as needed.

• Set mold protection.

• Verify nozzle and orifice are of proper size.

• Set safety drop bar as needed.

• Purge barrel as needed.

• Prepare molds for storage by cleaning, removing water and spraying with rust protect ant.

• Troubleshooting of molding machines that are running.

• May be required to perform additional duties as determined by Supervisor.

• Practical experience in mold setup, operation, and maintenance within a manufacturing environment.

• Familiarity with various types of molds and molding machines.

• Technical proficiency in mold setup and operation.

• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

• Attention to detail for quality control.

• Effective communication skills to collaborate with different teams and convey technical information.

Mold Technician Physical Demands and Work Environment

• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

• The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.

• Frequently required lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds.

• Frequently required standing, walking, and reaching with hands and arms.

• Ability to use hand tools.
