Job Description Summary
Provides safe, accurate and efficient patient care, including but not limited to patient assessment, vital signs, review of labs, medication review and safety, allergy verification, review of systems, completion of medical forms, facilitation of prescription refills, and dose verification and drug administration if needed. The clinic nurse also reviews incoming phone calls related to patient conditions, concerns, and needs and communicates the concerns to the provider, collaborating to resolve the issue or directing to the appropriate person.

- Accurately performs patient assessment, vital signs, medication reconciliation, allergy review, and review of systems.
- Safely and accurately administers chemotherapy, immunotherapy, biotherapy, supportive care, and non-oncologic agents as ordered by providers, following Oncology Nurse’s Society (ONS) standards and guidelines.
- Safely disposes of biohazardous waste per OSHA and NIOSH guidelines.
- Answers and/or reviews phone calls from patients, caregivers, and outside entities, using nursing assessment skills to determine urgency and appropriate disposition.
- Reviews patient chart for possible adverse events related to treatment before discussing with the provider.
- Effectively discusses with physician or nurse practitioner the steps necessary to ensure proper patient care.
- Discusses with the provider any abnormal labs or tests so that appropriate action can be taken and charted.
- Provides patient education related to medications and side‑effect management.
- Documents thoroughly, accurately, and timely in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Contacts emergency room when a patient is directed there, giving explanation, diagnosis, and a phone number for provider contact.
- Handles prescription refill requests according to company procedure.
- Completes medical forms such as FMLA and DME requests.
- Completes annual required safety and nurse training.
- Maintains confidentiality of all patient and employee information.
- Works at any company location as needed and works overtime with sufficient notice.
- Complies with all federal and state laws related to patient privacy, personnel law, safety, labor, and employment.
- Adheres to company policies, IT policies, and the disaster plan.
- Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
- Education: Nursing degree.
- Certifications/Licenses: Unencumbered RN license in state of employment or multi‑state license; current CPR and BLS certifications; valid driver’s license and vehicle for travel to clinic locations.
- Experience: Experience with hematology/oncology patients in a clinic or hospital setting; ability to assess patient needs and conditions; strong critical thinking; calm and effective in emergency situations; fluency in English with excellent oral and written communication.

- Computer Skills – proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and use of the EMR.
Less than 25% travel. Will be expected to work at any company location to meet business needs.
Standard Core Workdays/HoursMonday to Friday, 8:00AM–5:00PM. Occasional overtime may be required and weekend shifts based on location hours and operational needs.
