Overview
POSITION OVERVIEW The Quality Associate supports the Quality Manager in maintaining and improving the organization’s Quality Management System (QMS), regulatory compliance, and workplace safety initiatives. This role assists with quality assurance activities, regulatory documentation, training support, and safety program implementation to ensure compliance with applicable standards, regulations, and internal procedures.
Responsibilities- Continual improvement of the QMS and associated processes.
- Conduct internal quality audits on a recurring basis.
- Maintain compliance with customer requirements (CofC’s, REACH, RoHS, special packaging, etc.) and organizations I.e. AIAG, APQP, PPAP, IMDS.
- Compile and maintain material certifications, manufacturing certifications, Country of Origin documentation, and USMCA support documentation using supplier and internal data.
- Identify, document, and assist with the disposition of non-conforming material (NCRs).
- Assist with root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive actions (CAR, SCAR, CAPA) by collecting data and verifying completion.
- Support document control activities, including creation, revision, and distribution of quality records and procedures.
- Drive quality education and transparency throughout the organization.
- Track and maintain quality data, including RMAs, returns, and customer complaints.
- Participate in Management Review preparation and data collection.
- Support regulatory documentation, record retention, and audit readiness.
- Support OSHA compliance activities, including training documentation and recordkeeping.
- Assist in safety training coordination, tracking, and employee onboarding training.
- Participate in safety inspections, incident investigations, and corrective action tracking.
- Promote quality awareness, safe work practices, and attention to detail throughout organization.
- All other duties, as assigned.
- Associates degree or greater from an accredited college or university (Preferred)
- Six Sigma Certification (Preferred)
- ISO Audit Certification (Preferred)
- ERP Experience (Preferred)
- Bilingual, English-Spanish (Preferred)
- ISO or related Quality Management System experience (required)
- Some experience as Quality Assurance or Quality Technician, or combination thereof (Preferred)
- Aptness to read, analyze and interpret technical related data
- Creativity in approaching complex challenges and problems
- Must be able to learn, understand and apply new quality strategies
- Intermediate level ability in the Microsoft Office Suite:
Word, Excel, Power Point - Ability to read measuring devices (tape measure, calipers)
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills with the capability to clearly communicate and articulate information to team members, customers, and vendors with differing communication styles.
- Capability to elicit cooperation and quality information from customers (internal & external).
- Ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize.
