Role Description The Assistant Manager role is a full-time, on-site position located in Elkhart, IN. This role supports the Store Manager in leading daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and adherence to company policies. The Assistant Manager helps drive sales by coaching team members on customer service standards, fashion presentation, and product knowledge, while maintaining a welcoming and inclusive shopping environment.
Responsibilities include overseeing merchandising and visual displays, monitoring inventory levels, and ensuring that promotions and markdowns are executed accurately. The role also involves assisting with scheduling, training, and performance feedback, as well as fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and compliance with safety and loss prevention guidelines.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated retail or customer service experience, preferably in fashion apparel or accessories.
- Supervisory or leadership experience in a store environment, including coaching and developing team members.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills to support an inclusive team culture.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, follow operational procedures, and meet sales and performance goals.
- Basic math, cash-handling accuracy, and comfort working with point-of-sale and retail systems.
- Availability for a flexible full-time schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, move merchandise, and perform physical tasks related to store operations.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in business, merchandising, or related fields is a plus.
- Interest in fashion trends and styling, with the ability to translate trends into customer-focused solutions.
