Location:
Elkhart, IN Job Type: Temp-to-Perm Hourly pay: 40–45 hour / OT 1.5 Eligibility Requirements:
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship Must be local to the Elkhart, IN area
Position Summary:
The Electrical engineer performs preventive electrical maintenance, and restores, repairs, or replaces faulty or inoperative equipment as needed.
Essential Functions:
Assemble, evaluate, test, and maintain electrical wiring, equipment, and apparatus PLC Knowledge Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning equipment Read and interpret electrical and electronic blueprints, diagrams, and schematics Advise management on continued use of unreliable or unsafe equipment Perform and document calibrations on electrical equipment Tune drives on various equipment to optimize performance Participate in weekend on-call rotation for facility coverage
Safety Responsibilities:
Follow all plant and departmental safety rules Operate all equipment and tools safely Complete non-routine safety evaluations for irregular tasks Take responsibility for maintaining a safe work environment Perform all assigned tasks in a safe and compliant manner
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology preferred experience as an electrical technician
Skills & Abilities:
Technical knowledge of equipment modification Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Ability to identify equipment issues and perform maintenance independently Effective communication and teamwork skills Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (spreadsheets and databases)
