CDL Class A Driver

CDL Class A Truck Driver — Hourly, Full Time

• Safety and Compliance
• Complies with driver responsibilities as outlined in company DAART program and as required by DOT
• Maintain vehicle in accordance with Elkhart Transportation management policy
• Operate vehicle in a safe and efficient manner, complying with company policy and procedures, and applicable state and federal laws
• Support on-time delivery by transporting loads via established routes to proper destinations as efficiently as possible while observing all traffic laws and safety regulations
• Inspect trailer loads to ensure proper loading processes and that the correct load is secured before leaving the facility
• Verify product count while the truck is being loaded
• Obtain correct acknowledgment or signature and date for bill of lading and necessary signatures; return properly completed documentation to the Transportation Manager
• Other duties as assigned

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• License: CDL A License required
• Experience: 1+ years in previous tractor trailer driving experience
• Ability to work safely adhering to all safety processes and policies
• Forklift experience a plus
• Proven ability to work SAFELY adhering to all safety processes and policies
• Ability to work a flexible schedule on occasion to support operational and business needs

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds repeatedly, up to 100 pounds occasionally
• Must be able to stand for 8-10 hours a day
• Bend, stand, squat, twist repeatedly

Work Environment:

• Loud environment that requires hearing protection
• Exposure to fumes or airborne particles
• Manufacturing facility with machinery and equipment
• Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme heat; and risk of electrical shock
• On the road, the employee may encounter traffic or other hazardous driving conditions
