Deliver and pick up metal, aluminum, or plastic materials and products while providing excellent customer service.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSCDL-A:
Drive combination vehicles with capacities in excess of 26,001 lbs. (roll-off, flatbed Conestoga trailers, lugger, or dry van are primarily used)
CDL-B:
Drive commercial motor vehicles in excess of 26,001 lbs.
Chauffeur’s license: drive 26-foot flatbed
Understand and ensure consistent compliance with all federal, state and local laws / regulations, and company policies / procedures regarding the FMCSA.Perform upkeep on mobile equipment.
Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew and checking that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned.
Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles.
Maintain logs of working hours or of vehicle service or repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations
Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods (electronic).Inventory and inspect goods to be moved to determine quantities and conditions.
Consistently provides prompt and courteous service to customers.
Communicate to customers and coworkers in a clear and professional manner.
Secure cargo for transport, using ropes, blocks, chain, binders, or covers and Protects materials from weather, as needed.
Perform daily pre-trip/post-trip vehicle inspections and reports any safety issues immediately.
Maintain company equipment inside/out in order to ensure both cleanliness and safety.
Must have effective communication skills in order to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, and to write routine reports and correspondence.
Must be able to interact in person with coworkers and the public.
Must be able to handle high stress situations.
Work overtime as required.
Maintain regular and predictable attendance.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE1 year of verifiable related driving experienceCDL A license (unrestricted) with an acceptable driving record and a valid medical card. (Some positions only require a Chauffeur's license or CDL-B license)
