Process Engineer

As a Process Engineer you will have a direct impact on making life‑saving devices each day and every day. This role provides engineering support and optimization improvements on established equipment including vision systems, auxiliary equipment, automation, robots, end‑of‑arm tooling, packaging, plastic injection molding, assembly and other processing systems for an injection molding manufacturer.

• Develop programs and/or methods to optimize productivity and reduce cycle time, manufacturing losses, and overall costs.
• Assure that the process adheres to ISO standards.
• Continuously improve existing processes using design of experiments and other methods to increase efficiencies.
• Support the product development process by assisting the program teams as necessary to ensure successful product launches.
• Mold validation process set‑up, troubleshooting and process monitoring.
• Quotes, procures, modifies and validates both new and existing production mold tooling.
• Resolve technical tooling and process problems associated with both new and old tooling.
• Assist in selection of tooling vendors.
• Direct vendor interface, coordinate in‑process changes and approve tooling upon completion.
• Work with vendors to perform new or modified component validations as applicable; determine the requirements and direct any tooling upgrades to existing tooling.
• Monitor all molding operations, tracking efficiency and potential issues.
• Apply a scientific approach to problem‑solving machine issues, track statistical data and utilize SPC to continuously monitor and improve the efficiency of the molding operations.
• Participate in variation scrap and cost‑reduction opportunities.
• Work as a cross‑functional team member involved in processes, various designs, troubleshooting, project management and cost analysis.
• Assist in the collection of information, selection and implementation of new molding projects.
• Create procedures, routings and BOMs; assist with corrective actions to resolve non‑conformances as root causes are identified.
• Optimize manufacturing practices.
• Improve workforce by training Process Technicians and Mold Technicians on efficient machines.
• Other projects and tasks as assigned.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field preferred.
• 4+ years experience in a manufacturing environment (silicone injection molding experience preferred).
• Working knowledge of manufacturing technologies with emphasis on injection molding, SPC, DOE and GD & T.
• Detailed knowledge of mold and part design.
• Proficiency with MS Office software suites (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
• Excellent communication and record‑keeping skills.
