CNC Router Operator
Wage: $30.00-$35.00/hour
Shift: 1st, 2nd
Hours:
1st Shift 6:00am-4:30pm Monday-Thursday, overtime on Fridays as needed; 2nd Shift 5:00pm-5:30am Monday-Wednesday, overtime on Thursdays as needed (Three 12-hour days; work the full 36 hours, receive 4 additional hours for a total of 40 hours)
We are seeking an experienced CNC Router Operator to set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC wood routing equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment for a company in Elkhorn, WI. This position is responsible for producing high-quality wood components while meeting production, quality, and safety standards. The ideal candidate has experience operating CNC routers, strong mechanical aptitude, and takes pride in producing precision work.

- Set up, operate, and monitor CNC wood routing machines
- Safely load and unload materials while ensuring proper alignment and secure fixturing
- Troubleshoot machine issues and make minor program adjustments as needed
- Escalate complex equipment or programming concerns to the appropriate personnel
- Meet or exceed production goals while maintaining quality standards
- Accurately record production data, machine run times, and material usage
- Perform in-process and final inspections to ensure finished parts meet specifications
- Read and interpret blueprints, CAD/CAM drawings, work orders, and production documentation
- Utilize measuring instruments to verify dimensions and product quality
- Identify and report quality concerns or nonconforming materials promptly
- Perform routine cleaning, tool changes, and basic preventive maintenance on CNC equipment
- Maintain tooling, fixtures, and workstations in a clean and organized manner
- Support continuous improvement initiatives that increase efficiency and equipment performance
- Work closely with production team members to meet daily manufacturing goals
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, programmers, maintenance, and quality personnel
- Participate in ongoing training, cross-training, and professional development opportunities
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of 1-2 years of CNC router operating experience required
- Experience operating 3-axis CNC routers preferred
- Woodworking or wood fabrication experience is a plus
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and production documentation
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Ability to regularly lift, push, pull, or carry up to 35 pounds
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and repetitive hand movements
- Regular lifting and carrying of materials weighing up to 35 pounds
- Ability to safely operate CNC machinery and related production equipment throughout the workday
