Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts: days 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or nights 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM

• Patient ratios: 1:4 during days, 1:5-6 during nights on 16-bed unit

• Weekend rotation required every 3rd weekend

• Holiday expectations: work 1 summer and 1 winter holiday

• No on-call responsibilities

• Schedule provided in 6-week increments, received 2 weeks prior to start

• Minimum 1 year medical-surgical experience required

• First-time travelers accepted

• Required certification: BLS

• EPIC EMR experience required

• Floating possible within scope of practice to Observation and Med Surg 1 units

• Care for patients with CHF, COPD, respiratory issues, pneumonia, cellulitis, infections, DVT, kidney disease, wounds, and post-surgical patients

• Perform general medical-surgical skills including foley insertion/care, peripheral IV placement, bladder scans, NG tube management

• Manage chest tubes, tracheostomies, wound care, central lines, PICC lines, and access ports

• Administer heparin and insulin drips

• Dress code: solid color scrubs, professional appearance with no graphics, logos, or designs

• Orientation includes NEO and 1 shift on unit to learn workflow

• Request time off up to 7 days may be approved

Facility:

This healthcare facility is a 167-bed medical center that serves as a Level II Trauma Center with comprehensive specialty services. The facility features a Level III NICU, Level III Maternity services, and operates as a Primary Stroke Center. The medical center provides advanced care with 24/7 hospitalist coverage, respiratory therapy services, and specialized support teams including IV/Vascular Access and SWAT RN services.

The facility utilizes modern technology and equipment to deliver quality patient care across multiple specialty units.
