Branch Skilled - CNC Maintenance Technician

Position Title:

CNC Maintenance Technician Wage: $25.00-$32.00/hour

7:00am-3:00pmQPS Employment Group is hiring a CNC Maintenance Technician for a company in Elkhorn, WI. This is a direct hire opportunity.

CNC Maintenance Technician Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on CNC machines and related equipment

Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, PLC, and servo systems using schematics, manuals, and diagnostic tools

Diagnose and resolve electrical and control system issues using appropriate test equipment

Calibrate and align machine components to meet precision tolerances

Follow all safety procedures, including strict adherence to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols

Complete assigned preventative maintenance tasks in alignment with production schedules

Document maintenance activities, downtime, and parts usage in the maintenance management system

Partner with operators and supervisors to identify recurring issues and implement corrective actions

Assist with equipment installation, upgrades, and facility improvements

Fabricate tooling and fixtures as needed

Monitor consumable tooling levels and communicate replenishment needs

Maintain a strong sense of urgency, accountability, and safe work practices

Perform other duties as assignedCNC Maintenance Technician Requirements:

Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, and control systems

Solid understanding of CNC machinery and manufacturing equipment

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, ladder logic, and technical manuals

Working knowledge of PLC systems and CNC controls (Fanuc, Haas, Siemens preferred)
Proficiency with electrical testing and diagnostic equipment

Basic welding and fabrication skills

Experience with precision measuring tools and machine alignment

Familiarity with CNC programming concepts (M-Code knowledge a plus)
Strong communication and problem-solving abilities

Ability to work both independently and within a team environment

High school diploma or GED required

Technical or vocational training in industrial maintenance, mechatronics, or a related field preferred3-5+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably supporting CNC equipment

Additional training in electronics or electrical systems preferred

Welding or fabrication training a plus

Experience with Fanuc, Haas, or Siemens controls preferred

Strong electrical troubleshooting experience required

Certified electrician designation is a plus

Experience with CNC machines, paper machines, printing presses, or similar industrial equipment preferred

Basic computer skills (Windows-based systems)
Forklift certification preferred

Manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, moving machinery, electrical systems, dust, and pressurized equipment

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks, including climbing, pushing, and pulling

Ability to move throughout the facility and work safely around machinery

Flexibility to work various shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and overtime as needed

Opportunity to transition to alternate shifts after initial training period based on business needs
