Wisconsin Community Services (WISCS.org) seeks a Certified Peer Support Specialist to empower individuals across our community programs. In this Healthcare & Medical Services role within Community & Social Services, you'll use your lived experience to provide recovery-oriented, trauma-informed peer support. Responsibilities include one-on-one mentoring, group facilitation, resource navigation, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. You'll promote self-advocacy, document services accurately, and uphold ethical standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one and group peer support to clients in community settings
  • Share lived experience to foster trust, hope, and recovery-focused relationships
  • Assist clients in navigating healthcare, social service, and justice-related resources
  • Collaborate with care teams to support individualized service and recovery plans
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in accordance with agency and HIPAA standards
  • Support crisis de-escalation and connect clients to appropriate services
  • Advocate for client needs while promoting self-advocacy and empowerment
  • Facilitate recovery groups, workshops, and community-building activities
  • Participate in team meetings, supervision, and ongoing training
  • Uphold ethical guidelines, professional boundaries, and cultural humility
