Job Title:

Respite Youth Care Worker

Are you passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of young people? Do you have a caring, empathetic nature and a desire to help create a supportive environment for youth? We are seeking a dedicated Respite Youth Care Worker to join our team and provide essential care and support to young individuals in need.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide supervision, care, and a nurturing environment for youth in a respite care setting.
  • Develop positive relationships with young individuals to foster trust and companionship.
  • Engage in activities that promote emotional, social, and physical well‑being.
  • Support youth in developing independent living skills and achieving personal goals.
  • Collaborate with a team of professionals to plan and implement individualized care plans.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of care provided, as well as any incidents or observations.
  • Ensure a safe and clean environment, adhering to all organizational policies and safety regulations.
  • Communicate regularly with families, guardians, and other stakeholders to provide updates on the youth's well‑being.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; additional education in social work, psychology, or a related field is preferred.
  • Previous experience working with youth in a care or support setting is a strong asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with young individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong problem‑solving abilities and the capacity to remain calm in challenging situations.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet the needs of the youth and the program.
  • Valid CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain upon hire and Mandated Reporters Training.
  • Background check clearance as per organizational and state requirements.
