Quality Assurance - QA/QC
What You’ll Do
Observes, documents, and verifies work in progress by the construction contractor to ensure compliance with contract documents and plans. Confirms procedures are followed and material used conforms to specifications. Utilizes engineering inspection practices to perform rudimentary mathematical calculations and measurements of completed work to date. Maintains Inspector’s daily report of assigned work activities, contractor labor and equipment, quantity of material received and verified.
Assists in on‑site material testing and produces as‑constructed sketches as required. Performs other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent and 1 year of construction experience.
- All required jurisdictional certificates and state requirements.
- Read and understand plans and specifications.
- Recognize, document, and escalate field issues.
- Calculate pay quantities.
- Understand change conditions.
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and other computer skills.
- Experience with the West Virginia Division of Highways (WVDOH) Transportation Engineering Technician Level1 or Level
2.
