Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church (PC USA) and Holy Trinity Luthern Church (ELCA) are currently in a yoked relationship, and are searching for a pastor to help lead our congregations. It is the vision of both congregations to grow and serve the community in a bold and loving manner. We want to focus outreach on our belief in justification by faith, and the grace of God.

We strive to provide a space where spiritual needs and views of those with different faiths can be nurtured and shared in both discussion and service.

As yoked congregations, we are open to applicants out side of our traditions as long as they are willing (and interested!) in exploring new aspects of their faith.

Elkins is a small college town in the scenic highlands of West Virginia, making it a center for outdoor recreation as well as a vibrant arts community. We serve as one of the gateways to the Monongahela National Forest, and thousands travel to Elkins each year to participate in the Augusta Heritage Center’s Appalachian Arts and Culture Workshops. The churches also support the Davis and Elkins College Chaplain by providing housing, which is located adjacent to the churh and the pastor’s manse.

If the idea of working closely with a college chaplain, or just having a peer as a neighbor seems appealing, this might be the call for you.

• Explain with theological details what areas of ministry you value most in your calling.
• Describe a moment when you have “served using your energy, intelligence, imagination and love”, that led to positive change.
• Please describe how have you dealt with failure or disappointment before.
• Describe a moment in your recent ministry that you recognize as one of effectiveness and fulfillment.
