Automotive Technician

Description of the role

The Automotive Service Technician at Elko Motor Company is responsible for diagnosing and repairing various automotive issues for our customers. This position involves working on vehicles of different makes and models, utilizing advanced technical knowledge and expertise to provide high‑quality service. The successful candidate will have a strong background in automotive repair and maintenance, along with excellent problem‑solving skills.

• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership procedures.
• Test‑drive vehicles and test components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, and more.
• Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers are informed if any additional service is needed and provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairs.
• Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.

• Proven experience as an Automotive Service Technician or a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle systems and mechanics.
• Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Excellent problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work well in a fast‑paced environment.
• Great attention to detail and accuracy.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Certification from a recognized automotive training program is preferred.
