Position Description

Our people division is growing, and we are looking for an Underground Operations Planner at our Cortez operation. The successful candidate will be responsible for effective management of consumable supplies for the operation, including inventory management, monthly cost analyses, contract administration, and providing guidance during the annual budgeting process.
Responsibilities- Handles routine purchasing for all underground operation parts, tools, and safety items.
- Approves and reviews all bin-stock invoicing.
- Issues monthly work orders for bolts, plates, and wire ground support.
- Performs end-of-month accruals and works with Engineering to report all end-of-month costs.
- Tracks the three‑month/year forecast purchasing items in bulk to save on cost per foot.
- Processes all vendor creation and maintenance documents, approves or rejects them based on business practices, and informs end‑users of required data and specifications.
- Participates as a member in project work and continuous‑improvement opportunities.
- Contributes to safety and environmental practices to achieve an increased level of safety awareness.
- Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to forecast, plan, and work with Strategic Sourcing on key spend categories.
- Develops and maintains good relationships with suppliers and ensures terms and conditions of agreements are fulfilled.
- Supports assessment and sourcing of suppliers in conjunction with the sourcing and procurement team.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Other tasks as assigned by the Superintendent.
- Two to four years of directly related maintenance planning, inventory analytics, and warehousing experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Mining experience preferred.
- Strong computer skills using office software such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
