Safety Advisor - Traveling

Position Summary

Turner Staffing Group is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to support heavy civil, construction, road building, and mining project sites. This field‑based role focuses on promoting a strong safety culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing hands‑on safety leadership across multiple project locations.

Key Responsibilities

* Deliver field‑level safety orientations and lead safety meetings

* Promote and model safe work behaviors and best practices

* Conduct site inspections, audits, and hazard assessments

* Support incident and near‑miss investigations

* Monitor compliance with Turner Staffing Group's Safe Work Practices and PPE policies

* Collaborate with workers, supervisors, and management to identify and mitigate hazards

* Track safety trends and recommend continuous improvements

* Travel to multiple project sites as required

Requirements

* Minimum 5 years' experience as a Health & Safety Advisor in heavy civil, construction, or mining environments

* Strong knowledge of provincial OH&S regulations

* MSHA Part 48 certification or ability to obtain

* Alcohol and Drug Screening (pre‑employment)

* Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work 12‑hour rotational day/night shifts

* Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions

* Strong communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills

* High school diploma required; post‑secondary education an asset
