The Elko Daily Free Press is looking for an editor who can serve as a player/coach and lead the newsroom. The ideal candidate will inspire the team to grow the audience by reporting impactful local news for print and digital platforms.

• Plan, develop, and implement news coverage strategy for breaking news, enterprise stories, sports, and features.
• Plan the story budget and ensure stories are ready for immediate digital posting.
• Establish and maintain an effective workflow, edit stories, and produce content as needed.
• Supervise staff and juggle the demands of digital and print journalism.

• Experience in a supervisory role within a newsroom.
• Demonstrated ability to act as a player/coach and lead a team.
• Strong background in both digital and print journalism.
