Our people division is growing, and we are looking for a Training Supervisor at our Carlin Underground Training Mine. The successful candidate will engage with several key internal and external stakeholders to initiate and support safe and responsible mining operations.
Responsibilities- Direct supervision, mentoring, and coaching of trainees.
- Apply strong leadership to execute the training plan, mine plan and improve performance by leading the team to deliver safe, environmentally sound, and efficient gold production.
- Maintain employee training records, evaluations and collaborate with peers, operations, maintenance, and support teams.
- Communicate, coach, and assist in the field to ensure safety and training expectations are understood and met.
- Assist in the development and implementation of training programs for competency.
- Maintain site compliance to ensure employees have the necessary skills, knowledge, and attitude to perform tasks safely, efficiently, and environmentally soundly.
- Create and maintain accurate training records in accordance with MSHA regulations.
- Conduct observations in collaboration with the operating departments.
- Develop training courses based on site needs and establish instructional methods such as individual training, group instruction, lectures, demonstrations, meetings, and workshops.
- Exhibit personal commitment to safety, health, and training.
- Assist in standardizing divisional procedures, guidelines, and planned task observations.
- Audit and review training courses, materials, and programs for continuous improvement.
- Implement a Competency Based Training system to deliver information that employees retain.
- Track task training and planned task observations.
- Manage document control and training record management in compliance with site repository directives.
- Plan and schedule Annual Refresher Training for all employees.
- Facilitate new miner, experienced miner, hazard, site and task specific training courses as needed.
- Align with site initiatives or mandates.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- MSHA Instructor Certification (blue card) required.
- Five (5) years of experience in underground mining and heavy equipment operation with demonstrated leadership ability and success in relevant technical assignments.
- Proven experience working with peer groups and focus teams.
- Ability to drive results and meet time‑sensitive deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent leadership skills and ability to influence others.
- Ability to promote safety in training and lead by example.
- Competent computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Proven safe work record.
