Child Center - Teaching Aide; Part-Time

Job Summary

Teacher Aide – GBC Child and Family Center, Elko, Nevada.

• Assist Lead Teacher and Assistant Teacher in instructing children aged 2‑5.
• Participate in caring for children’s well‑being and safety.
• Implement lesson plans that stimulate development of age‑appropriate cognitive and social skills—including communication, emergent reading, writing, math, science, social studies, creative art, fine and gross‑motor development.
• Teach and support the Pre‑Kindergarten Standards through suitable classroom activities.
• Set up and maintain an age‑appropriate learning environment that meets NAEYC, Pyramid Model, and ECCERS requirements.
• Model attitudes, behaviors, and techniques that contribute to a harmonious program operation.
• Promote positive public relations with internal and external contacts.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Lead Teacher or Director.

• Enrollment in an Early Childhood Education program or possession of a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential.
• Demonstrated organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
• Adaptable, teachable, and willing to support team members.
• Ability to respond quickly and make decisions in a changing environment.
• Ability to teach children through play.
• Physically able to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, reach above shoulder level, climb stairs, pull, type, and stand or sit for prolonged periods.

Part‑time, non‑benefits eligible. Salary commensurate with experience.
