About Jerritt Canyon

The Jerritt Canyon deposit was discovered in 1972, and the first gold production from the property occurred in 1981. The Jerritt Canyon property contains 30,821 hectares of mining claims located in the mining-friendly state of Nevada. First Majestic acquired the Jerritt Canyon Gold Mine from Sprott Mining Inc. on April 30, 2021. In May 2023, operations were suspended to prioritize exploration and technical studies.

Jerritt Canyon is now entering a new phase of evaluation and planning, requiring substantial technical support to advance the work necessary for a potential future restart of operations.

The Opportunity

First Majestic is seeking an experienced project manager to lead the scoping and planning of a potential accelerated restart of the oxygen, comminution, roasting, leaching, stripping, and refinery processes at the Jerritt Canyon Gold Mine. This role is accountable for managing multidisciplinary consultants, developing an integrated restart plan, and delivering a clearly defined scope, schedule, and cost estimate to support informed restart decisions.

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate a personal commitment to safety by acting as a visible advocate and leader for a strong safety culture across employees, contractors, and consultants.
  • Lead the overall project management effort for the process plant restart scoping phase, including scope definition, schedule development, cost estimating, and risk management.
  • Select, contract, and manage external consultants and subject-matter experts (process, metallurgical, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, environmental, and assay laboratory).
  • Coordinate consultant work streams to ensure alignment with project objectives, timelines, and budget constraints.
  • Develop and maintain an integrated restart execution plan covering the oxygen plant, comminution, roasting, leaching, stripping, and refinery circuits.
  • Facilitate technical reviews, workshops, and readiness assessments to identify gaps, constraints, and critical path items for restart.
  • Ensure all restart plans comply with applicable health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with site operations, maintenance, technical services, supply chain, and corporate teams to align project priorities and assumptions.
  • Define preliminary operating strategies, staffing concepts, training needs, and commissioning requirements in collaboration with consultants and site leadership.
  • Establish and maintain a reliable project cost model, capital and operating cost estimates, and supporting documentation.
  • Identify risks and opportunities related to schedule acceleration, cost optimization, and operational readiness, and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Prepare clear, concise reports and recommendations for senior management to support investment decisions.
  • Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, continuous improvement, and effective communication among all project stakeholders.

The above duties and responsibilities are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all-inclusive.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor of Science degree in metallurgical engineering, chemical engineering, or related field preferred
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in mining or mineral processing, with demonstrated project management responsibility for process facilities.
  • Proven experience selecting, managing, and coordinating engineering and technical consultants.
  • Strong working knowledge of gold processing flow sheets and associated infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop project scopes, schedules, cost estimates, and risk assessments.
  • Solid understanding of health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements related to mineral processing facilities.
  • Strong leadership, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all organizational levels.
