Our people division is growing, and we are looking for an Autoclave Metallurgical Technician to join our Carlin Roaster Operations department. Under the supervision of the metallurgist, the metallurgical technician will carry out all necessary tests for quality control and improvement projects in the processing facilities, including the mill and heap leach. The role includes providing analytical data, monitoring and maintaining equipment for the metallurgical department to ensure parameters are being met in the processing plant.

ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Metallurgical Senior or Superintendent, the Autoclave Metallurgical Technician is responsible for the following:
- Regular metallurgical sampling and testing in the plant to assess and improve daily operation
- Maintain metallurgical sampling equipment
- Assist in metallurgical studies by executing sampling plans, preparing, and analyzing samples both in a lab and in the process plant setting
- Maintain laboratory and analytical equipment used in the process facility
- Ordering and stocking of process laboratory supplies
- Assist in reviewing new or enhanced metallurgical testing equipment or protocols
- Assist in evaluating and administering contracts with vendors for the provision of services and equipment
- Complete weekly and monthly sampling for plant inventory calculations
- Develop and maintain an understanding of applicable programs, practices and existing/proposed local, state and federal regulations applicable to the area of assignment
- Perform other duties as required
- Knowledge of the basic principles and methods used in metallurgical, laboratory and processing analyses (preferred)
- Ability to collect samples, process and accurately report on results (required)
- Working ability in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) (required)
- Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions (required)
- Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards (required)
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing (required)
