Cortez - Metallurgical Technician

Job Description

Our people division is growing, and we are looking for a Metallurgical Technician at our Cortez operations. Under the supervision of the metallurgist, the metallurgical technician will carry out all necessary tests for quality control and improvements projects in the processing facilities, including the mill and heap leach.

The role includes providing analytical data, monitoring and maintaining equipment for the metallurgical department to ensure parameters are being met in the processing plant.

• Adhere to safety protocol in the processing facilities, metallurgical and assay lab.
• Demonstrate ability and competency to perform met lab sample preparation and test work.
• Submit documents for test work and collaborate with different sites and departments.
• Assist in planning, conducting, and participating in trials, projects, and audits.
• Collect data to ensure metallurgical parameters are being achieved.
• Have a good understanding of gold milling and heap leach processes.
• Write reports and keep the team updated.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Minimum two years as a mill operator preferred.
• Minimum two years experience in a lab; a metallurgical lab is highly preferred.
• Understand sampling protocols and the importance of representative slurry and solution sampling.
• Able to prioritize and manage projects and tasks.
• Proficiency in multiple software applications and network platforms required.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills required.
• Demonstrate ability and competency to maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot various sampling equipment.
• Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the position required.
