Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Manager, Native American Affairs to lead Tribal engagement, governmental consultation support, and long-term relationship development across our mining operations and development projects.

This role serves as the primary relationship lead for Tribal governments and Native American communities, supporting respectful, collaborative, and culturally appropriate engagement aligned with company values, operational priorities, and applicable governmental consultation obligations. The position works closely with Community Relations, permitting, environmental, legal, government affairs, and operational teams to ensure coordinated stakeholder engagement and consistent integration of Tribal perspectives into company activities.

The Manager, Native American Affairs is responsible for supporting responsible operations through meaningful partnership and engagement, ensuring accurate documentation of commitments and engagement activities, and advancing long-term initiatives aligned with company values and operational priorities.

Key

Duties & Responsibilities

* Lead Native American Affairs programs and initiatives in support of respectful, collaborative, and mutually beneficial Tribal relationships.

* Serve as primary company liaison supporting engagement with Tribal governments, respecting government-to-government processes.

* Develop and implement long-term relationship strategies with Tribal communities and organizations.

* Participate in engagement and coordination activities associated with permitting, operational, environmental, cultural, and development initiatives.

* Coordinate across departments to ensure consideration of cultural, environmental, historical, and social impacts in company activities.

* Support compliance with governmental consultation obligations, agreements, cultural protocols, and applicable legal requirements.

* Oversee and ensure documentation, tracking, and follow-through associated with Tribal commitments and engagement activities.

* Support organizational awareness and understanding of Tribal engagement expectations and cultural considerations.

* Manage Native American Affairs personnel, budgets, and program priorities.

* Communicate progress, risks, commitments, and strategic considerations.

Qualifications & Skills

Education

* Bachelor's degree in public affairs, Native American studies, political science, anthropology, communications, sustainability, natural resources, public administration, or related field required.

Experience

* 8+ years of experience in Tribal relations, Native American Affairs, stakeholder engagement, community relations, government relations, social performance, or external affairs, preferably within mining, energy, or industrial sectors required.

* 3+ years of supervisory experience required.

* Demonstrated experience working directly with Tribal governments, Native American communities, and governmental consultation processes.

* Strong understanding of Tribal sovereignty, cultural considerations, historical context, and government-to-government engagement principles.

* Experience supporting permitting, environmental review, engagement, or development activities associated with industrial operations or large-scale development projects.

* Demonstrated ability to build trusted long-term relationships within culturally sensitive and politically complex environments.

* Strong political judgment, negotiation skills, and ability to manage sensitive issues with professionalism, credibility, and discretion.

* Excellent written, verbal, facilitation, and public presentation skills.

Country Specific Requirements

* Eligible to live and work in the United States, required

* Fluent in reading and writing, in English language, required
