Director of Clinical Education and Respiratory Therapy Teaching Faculty – Cardio‑Respiratory Care Science Program
Job OverviewFull‑time, 9‑month, non‑tenure track teaching position based in GBC’s service area (Elko, Winnemucca, or Reno). The Director will lead the clinical education experience for respiratory therapy students, design, coordinate, and continuously improve clinical learning experiences, and support part‑time faculty across Nevada.
Responsibilities- Organize and manage clinical placements and evaluate program effectiveness.
- Foster strong partnerships with clinical sites and preceptors.
- Teach courses in the AAS Cardio‑Respiratory Care Science program—lectures, online modules, and clinical practicums.
- Support part‑time respiratory therapy faculty, including scheduling for laboratory sites.
- Participate in curriculum development, accreditation activities, and maintenance of program records.
- Assist in student recruitment, advisement, and retention.
- Assist in the selection and ordering of equipment, supplies, and textbooks.
- Maintain professional competence through continuing education and professional development.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and clinical partners.
- Travel throughout the GBC service area as required.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) and graduate of an accredited School of Respiratory Therapy.
- Baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum four (4) years of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist with at least two (2) years in direct clinical respiratory care.
- Current or ability to obtain Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners Respiratory Care Practitioner License.
- State of Nevada Point‑of‑Care Analyst (POCA) or Blood Gas Technologist license required within 120 days of hire.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with students, colleagues, and clinical partners.
- Teaching experience preferred.
Grade Academic Faculty – 2 Contract, 9‑month (ending mid‑May), paid over 12 months. Salary range: $70,000 – $90,000
