Clinical Laboratory Technologist
Perform complex clinical laboratory testing to support patient diagnosis and treatment. Ensure accurate, timely results while following all quality and safety standards. Collaborate with clinicians and lab team members across multiple shifts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform and verify testing across core lab disciplines such as chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, immunoassay, and microbiology as applicable.
- Calibrate, operate, and maintain laboratory instruments and analyzers.
- Review, interpret, and validate results with appropriate quality control and proficiency testing.
- Troubleshoot instruments, reagents, and workflow issues to minimize downtime.
- Adhere to CLIA, CAP, and state regulatory requirements and standard operating procedures.
- Support training, competency, and oversight consistent with a General Supervisor designation.
- Document activities accurately in the laboratory information system.
- Communicate critical results promptly to providers and nursing staff.
- Participate in process improvement and safety initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
- ASCP, AMT, or equivalent certification as a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist.
- Active Nevada General Supervisor Laboratory license.
- At least three years of prior clinical laboratory experience.
- Ability to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
Schedule and Compensation:
- Work schedule options include 12-hour shifts or night shifts.
- Night shifts may follow a 4 x 10-hour schedule per week with rotating weekends.
- The typical salary range is $23–$44 per hour or $69,000–$95,000 per year, depending on source and experience.
Preferred
Skills:
- Experience with modern analyzers and middleware in high-throughput settings.
- Strong troubleshooting, prioritization, and documentation skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork across departments and shifts.
Work Environment:
- Hospital-based clinical laboratory with a focus on accuracy, turnaround time, and patient safety.
- Requires standing, lifting up to 25–30 pounds, and adherence to PPE and biosafety protocols.
