The Maverick Hotel Front Desk performs a variety of duties for guests of the hotel. Responsibilities include answering all incoming calls and transferring calls to the appropriate department, entering reservations and cancellations, following through on changes requested by guests, registering and assigning rooms, issuing room keys, computing bills and collecting payment for stays, and answering guest inquiries to the best of your ability.
- Provide superior guest service and positively affect interactions with external and internal guests and team members; maintain resiliency with difficult guests and work harmoniously with coworkers.
- Check guests in/out of the hotel.
- Issue room keys and collect payment for rooms.
- Responsible for shift paperwork and Front Desk bank.
- Assist guests with any questions and address concerns.
- Use PBX Phone System.
- Communicate using radio equipment with Security, Maintenance, Housekeeping, Slot Department and the shuttle.
- Answer all incoming calls and transfer to the correct departments.
- Enter reservations and cancellations as requested by guests.
- Set up wake-up calls for guests.
- Performs related and/or other duties as required.
- Maintain knowledge of hotel occupancy status, special events, in-house groups and other situations affecting the reception desk’s operations.
- Must possess excellent customer service skills.
- Be able to read, write and type.
- Must be able to multitask.
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours).
- Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow through, courtesy, cooperativeness and work with minimum supervision.
- Ability to grasp, bend, and stoop; push or pull loads up to 40 pounds.
- Punctuality and regular and reliable attendance.
