Our client is seeking an experienced Director of People Services to lead Human Resources operations and serve as a strategic partner to executive leadership. This role oversees all HR functions for a 200‑employee hospital and plays a key part in shaping a positive, engaged, and high‑performing workplace culture.

The ideal candidate brings strong HR leadership experience, a people‑first mindset, and the ability to balance strategic planning with hands‑on operational execution.

Requirements:
  • Supervise and support one HR team member.
  • Prepare, monitor, and manage the HR department budget.
  • Coordinate and direct internal and external HR audits.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the CEO and executive leadership team.
  • Lead and evaluate HR operations to ensure performance, compliance, and quality objectives are met.
  • Develop and execute retention strategies to reduce turnover and support long‑term talent development.
  • Oversee staffing activities including recruitment, onboarding, evaluations, corrective actions, and professional development.
  • Build and maintain positive labor relations, including leading union negotiations.
  • Analyze workforce data to identify trends and drive improvements in engagement, staffing, and employee satisfaction.
  • Foster a culture that promotes professional growth, accountability, and employee engagement.
Qualifications/Must-Haves:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Strong employee relations background.
  • Union or labor relations experience (preferred)
  • Experience in a healthcare environment (preferred)
  • Minimum 7 years of progressive HR leadership experience.
  • HR certifications such as SHRM‑CP, SHRM‑SCP, PHR, or SPHR (preferred)
