People Services Director

We are seeking a dynamic People Services Director who will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of workforce management. This position offers a unique opportunity to lead strategic human resources initiatives that drive employee engagement, retention, and organizational success.

About the Role

In this strategic leadership position, you will collaborate directly with the executive leadership team to develop and implement HR strategies that align with business objectives. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Serving as a strategic advisor to senior leadership, guiding workforce planning and development.
  • Leading initiatives focused on employee engagement, retention, and culture transformation.
  • Overseeing labor relations, including managing collective bargaining agreements and union negotiations.
  • Providing expert guidance on performance management, conflict resolution, and employee relations.
  • Directing recruitment, onboarding, and workforce planning to meet organizational staffing needs.
  • Ensuring compliance with employment laws, policies, and regulations.
  • Analyzing workforce metrics to identify opportunities for operational improvement.
  • Developing and mentoring HR team members to foster a high-performance environment.
  • Managing departmental budgets and HR expenditures.
Qualifications

Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field. The following qualifications are essential:

  • A minimum of 7 years of progressive HR leadership experience.
  • Proven expertise in employee relations, labor relations, recruitment, compliance, and performance management.
  • Experience advising senior leadership teams and managing HR operations.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to influence and drive organizational initiatives.
  • Experience supervising HR staff and handling employee relations issues.
  • Experience in acute care hospital settings and union environments.
  • HR certifications such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR are advantageous.
