SummaryJob Summary:
We are looking for a Human Resources Generalist to assist the company with all Human Resources needs, The selected candidate will be tasked with recruiting new team members, assisting with employee relations issues, recruiting, patriating in terminations and disciplinary actions, and contributing to the overall development and success of the Human Resources department. The successful candidate should be highly organized and able to work independently.
This is a non-exempt, salaried position, reporting directly to the Human Resources Manager. This position will be located in the corporate office in Elko, NV. The selected candidate will be required to travel to all 4 Regional Offices to provide HR support, as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in HR. Business Administration, or related field preferred
- SHRM or HRCI certification, a plus
- General understanding of Labor Law and employment equity regulations
- Efficient HR administration and people management skills
- Proficient in computer software and programs (HRIS. ATS, Microsoft Office, etc.)
- High level of attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills, and strong analytical skills
- Proficient in me Microsoft Office suite of products, including Outlook, Excel and Word
- Experience in mining, manufacturing, maintenance service and/or construction industry is a plus
- Must be organized and self-directed, working with little or no supervision
- Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance
- Comply with all policies and procedures in Employee Handbook
- Assist in developing and executing personnel procedures and policies, and provide guidance and interpretation for business operations
- Respond to employee questions and concerns
- Partner with managers and employees to coach through and resolve workplace issues
- Investigate complaints brought forward by employees
- Coordinate employee development plans and performance management
- Assist with dischiplinary actions and terminations
- Manage the organization's Core recruiting and employee database and of personnel files
- Perform new hire orientation and supervisory training
- Assist with Administrative Leave (FMLA, ADA, Workers' Compensation)
- Produce and submit reports on general HR activity
- Assist with Employee recognition programs and Employee engagement
- Partner with Safety to ensure compliance within incident reporting and employee safety
- Ensure compliance with local and national regulations and applicable employment laws, and update policies and procedures when necessary
- Protect the interests of employees and the company in accordance with company Human Resources policies and governmental laws and regulations
- Manage full-cycle recruitment from requisition approval through new hire onboarding
- Partner with hiring managers to develop and approve job requisitions based on business needs
- Interact with all company personnel in a pleasant, helpful, and courteous manner
- Maintain the highest levels of professionalism and confidentiality at all times
