Elko County in Nevada seeks a Public Defender to defend indigent adults and juveniles in criminal cases in the justice and district courts. This position is appointed by the Elko County Board of County Commissioners.
The Public Defender will manage staff, prepare motions and briefs, represent clients, and conduct hearings. Nevada Bar membership and five years of full-time criminal defense experience are required. Knowledge of state and federal law is essential.
