Chief Operating Officer (Project Management)

Job Summary

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is responsible for leading the core operational functions of RAM Enterprise, Inc. This role focuses on overseeing all construction and field operations to ensure project excellence, safety, profitability, and scalability. The COO is a key member of the executive leadership team and ensures operational alignment with company strategy and business objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Operational Leadership
  • Oversee all company operations, including project execution, field performance, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with quality standards.
  • Lead and manage all regional directors to maintain operational discipline and efficiency.
  • Oversee and analyze company capital expenditures.
  • Maintain oversight of company facilities and assets.
Strategic Execution
  • Translate company strategy into actionable operational plans and measurable performance goals.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase productivity and reduce operational costs.
  • Support business development efforts by ensuring operational readiness for new and expanding projects.
Project Oversight
  • Monitor project progress, budgets, schedules, and risk factors.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, environmental standards, quality requirements, and client specifications.
  • Ensure estimating and preconstruction teams align with market conditions and produce accurate project plans.
Team Leadership and Culture
  • Build, lead, and retain high-performing operational teams.
  • Mentor and develop operational and regional leadership.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and reinforce company values across all job sites.
Client and Stakeholder Engagement
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Represent the company in project meetings, negotiations, and industry events.
  • Ensure operational alignment with contract terms and client expectations.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of senior operational leadership experience in construction.
  • Experience with mining or industrial infrastructure projects preferred.
  • Proven experience managing complex, multi-site construction operations.
  • Strong knowledge of construction safety standards, project controls, and field operations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with project management systems and ERP software.
  • Experience working in privately held companies with direct ownership involvement.
  • Understanding of mining industry operations and infrastructure requirements preferred.
Work Environment and

Physical Requirements

Occasional evening and weekend work may be required. Regular office duties include sitting, standing, walking, and bending. Travel to job sites may be required. Job site environments may include exposure to typical industrial hazards. Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) when on job sites, including hard hats, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and other protective equipment as required.
