This position is responsible for the management and oversight of the asphalt, aggregate, RMC, and construction operations for Staker Parson Materials & Construction in Elko, NV. The Elko Operations Manager leads and manages all aspects of safety, operations, sales, finance, equipment, and critical support functions with the primary responsibility for ensuring effective execution of company aggregate operational performance and growth strategy.
Competency requirements include business acumen, customer focus, developing direct reports, drive for results, strategic agility and building effective teams. The preferred candidate can lead and motivate within a safe team environment.

- Provide proactive leadership to ensure the safety culture of the company continues to grow by promoting safe production at all times. Collaborate with local Safety and Environmental Departments to maintain a safe working environment that complies with company standards and federal, state, and local regulations.
- Ensure that all processes and equipment meet or exceed MSHA, OSHA, and CRH safety guidelines. Continuously pursue a culture of safety and actively engage employees to reinforce safe behaviors.
- Responsible for all aggregate/asphalt operations including safe production, quality, customer focus, and maintaining the integrity of the safety and environmental systems within company’s operations for aggregate production.
- Drive operational performance and improvements to meet or exceed company and regional goals.
- Ensure that all crews have the tools and training to operate safely and that all federal, state, and local laws regarding safety, environment, and other applicable areas are adhered to.
- Provide leadership and direction to ensure efficiency, quality, service, and cost‑effective management of resources.
- Lead team in personal performance management including team building, training and development, succession planning, and effective recruiting and hiring.
- Work with GM to establish long‑range goals, strategies, plans, and policies.
- Participate in annual budgeting and capital expenditure planning for aggregate/asphalt operations with OpCo leadership.
- Manage Capital Expenditure Projects for assigned area.
- Provide advice and support to estimating and sales teams during the job bidding process.
- Work closely with other lines of business (construction, ready mix concrete, and asphalt production) to ensure sufficient, quality products are provided for their needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.
- BS Degree and/or high school diploma with at least five years’ experience in operations (alternatively, ten years of experience).
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to manage and motivate team members of varying pipeline levels to engage in and support all safety, production, and financial initiatives.
- Experience in aggregate, asphalt, RMC production, delivery, sales, and customer service is highly preferred.
- In‑depth knowledge of applicable rules and regulations governed by federal, state, and local regulatory agencies, including OSHA and MSHA.
