Position Description
The successful Project Manager will safely execute capital projects efficiently and ensure that agreed upon delivery is on target (time, budget, scope). Lead and develop a team of project management professionals to drive a culture of continuous improvement, fundamental project management, and best‑in‑class cost management. Ensure all programs, personal actions, and approaches support Nevada Gold Mines goals for safety and sustainability.

Responsibilities- Responsible for the evaluation and prioritization of projects under consideration (major capital investments)
- Evaluate trade‑offs
- Work with finance to assess and quantify value
- Align process with corporate capital spend evaluation criteria
- Communicate prioritization and manage backlog
- Oversee AFE process and act as internal quality control hurdle
- Work with Executive Managing Director, Operating General Managers, CFO, Department Heads, Finance, Geology and MRM
- Responsible for delivering projects safely, on time, and within budget
- Manage contractor selection process
- Identify opportunities for improvements throughout the course of delivery (e.g., drive design improvement opportunities)
- Interact closely with supply chain to ensure timely availability of project materials and appropriate costs are realized
- Identify, mitigate, monitor, and respond to risks related to project execution
- Report progress to the project sponsor(s) as required
- Proactively monitor interdependencies with other projects, i.e., inputs from and outputs to other projects
- Communicate regularly to all stakeholders, ensuring transparency and auditability
- Ensure appropriate capital stewardship by tracking, and managing spend according to plan
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering field (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Engineering Management, etc.) and Project Management Professional or Professional Engineer Certificate
- 10 to 15 years of progressive project management experience
- Large capital project management experience
- Strong technical knowledge of project management techniques
- Experience negotiating with and managing contractors
- Experience in engineering design and quality control
- Understanding of financial modeling and the impact of projects on overall business
- Governance and risk management experience
- Working knowledge of ERP systems, Capital and Project Management systems preferred
- Understanding of and adherence to environmental permitting process and obligations of existing permits
- Excellent data and business analysis skills – ability to conduct detailed analysis, define KPIs, provide business logic and calculations, meet reporting requirements
