POSITION DESCRIPTIONOur people division is growing, and we are looking for a Training General Supervisor to join our Carlin Safety, Health and Training team. The successful candidate will engage with several key internal and external stakeholders to initiate and support safe and responsible mining operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES- Responsible for the direct supervision, mentoring and coaching of divisional trainers and assessors.
- Communicate, coach, and assist in the field to ensure safety and training expectations are understood and met.
- Conduct regular performance review and professional development plans for team.
- Lead the standardization of divisional procedures, guidelines, and planned task observation templates.
- Collaborate with representatives across Carlin to standardize procedures and training materials where commonality exists.
- Drive continuous improvement of established training materials and systems to ensure information is delivered in a manner that optimizes information retention.
- Direct the development and implementation of a Competency Based Training system within respective division and across Carlin where commonality exists.
- Oversee assessment schedules for Competency Based Training courses.
- Assist in the standardization and management of the training record storage and document control.
- Conduct regular task observations and course facilitations evaluations.
- Assist in the planning and scheduling of Annual Refresher Training for all employees.
- Participate in the development of site strategic training forecasting and objectives.
- Participate with alignment of site and regional initiatives or mandates.
- Present data and ideas to management in formal and non-formal settings.
- Use effective approaches for choosing a course of action or developing appropriate solutions.
- Communicate effectively with operations and all levels of management to support and participate in the implementation of the Learning Management System (LMS).
- Regularly review and be familiar with all applicable regulations and standards to ensure compliance.
- Ensure safe and efficient operations through leadership, coaching, and compliance to the company’s Integrated Management System and local regulations.
- Provide support and direction for continuous improvement opportunities Safety, Health and Training.
- Continuously expand knowledge and understanding of Safety and Health structure, such as contractor controls, divisional specialists, Emergency Response, etc.
- Perform Safety & Health on-call responsibilities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Demonstrates ability to analyze and confidently present data in a manner to promote ideas and opportunities to lead improvement preferred
- Minimum of five (5) years of underground mining experience required
- Previous demonstrated experience related to leadership, training and Learning Management Systems required
- Thorough knowledge of MSHA, State, and ATF regulations required
- Proven attention to detail with a high level of accuracy required
- Excellent organizational, time management and office management skills to prioritize a heavy workload in a fast-paced, demanding environment required
