Position: Travel Nurse RN - Labor and Delivery - $2,597 per week

Job Summary

Fusion Medical Staffing – Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a 13‑week assignment in Elko, Nevada. As a member of our team you will deliver high‑quality patient care while enjoying competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and the support of a dedicated clinical team.

Responsibilities
  • Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families, providing reassurance and addressing concerns.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved obstetric nursing techniques.
  • Prepare equipment and aid physicians during labor, delivery, and examinations of patients.
  • Provide immediate postpartum care, including assessment and stabilization of mother and newborn.
  • Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care.
  • Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and other team members to deliver cohesive care.
  • Respond to obstetric emergencies, including preeclampsia, hemorrhage, or fetal distress, using evidence‑based protocols.
  • Document patient care, assessments, and interventions accurately in the medical record.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance maternal and neonatal outcomes.
  • Perform fetal monitoring and interpret results.
  • Assist in cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures.
  • Comply with all regulatory standards, including hospital policies, state laws, and federal guidelines for obstetric nursing care.
  • Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of labor and delivery nursing.
Required Qualifications
  • One year recent experience as a Labor and Delivery RN.
  • Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations.
  • Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • AWHONN Fetal Monitoring certification.
  • STABLE and ACLS certifications (AHA / ARC).
  • Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position.
Required Skills
  • Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
  • Ability to read and comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills.
  • Physical abilities: ability to remain in a stationary position, move equipment (50–100 lbs), push, pull, and bend.
  • Interpersonal skills: ability to work effectively with a variety of personnel to present a positive attitude and professionalism.
  • Technical/motor skills: ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures or using department equipment.
  • Mental requirements: ability to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure; ability to work under close supervision occasionally and working without assistance from other personnel; ability to contend with irregular activity schedules occasionally and continuous concentration on detail.
  • Sensory: possess visual acuity and ability to effectively communicate.
