Our OR Department embodies a culture of teamwork and effective communication, which are essential for providing specialized care to patients. This department provides clinical care for patients from Neonatal to Geriatric patients.
How you'll contribute- Accurately perform patient assessments and identify patient needs.
- Identify and initiate appropriate nursing interventions.
- Provide care appropriate to condition and age of the patient.
- Perform timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record.
- Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient.
- Perform timely and accurate QI assessments.
- Perform plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
- Document patient care provided.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
- Prepare, position, and transport patients for procedures.
- Prepare surgical and endoscopy suites with solutions, scopes, equipment, and supplies. Validate proper reprocessing of scopes for every procedure.
- Assess and care for patients throughout the perioperative process, including pre‑procedure and post‑procedure care.
- Operate specialized equipment and maintain a safe environment.
- Account for use of supplies during surgical/endoscopy procedures.
- Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs.
- Provide patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances throughout the perioperative process.
- Assist patients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
- Advocate for the physical and emotional well‑being of the patient.
- Participate in performance improvement and continuing education.
- Provide quality patient care and work flexible shifts or units as needed.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Applicants must have a current state RN license and possess an associate’s degree from an accredited nursing school.
- Basic Life Support certification is required.
- ACLS and PALS are required.
- One year of experience preferred.
- ASLS certification preferred.
