How you'll contribute- Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
- Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
- Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
- Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
- Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
- Performs timely and accurate QI assessments
- Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities
- Documents patient care provided
- Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family
- Prepares, positions, and transports patients for procedures
- Prepares surgical and endoscopy suites with solutions, scopes, equipment, and supplies; validates proper reprocessing of scopes for every procedure
- Assesses and cares for patients throughout the perioperative process, including pre‑procedure and post‑procedure care
- Operates specialized equipment and maintains a safe environment
- Accounts for use of supplies during surgical/endoscopy procedures
- Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs
- Provides patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances throughout the perioperative process
- Assists patients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation
- Advocates for the physical and emotional well‑being of the patient
- Participates in performance improvement and continuing education
- Provides quality patient care and works flexible shifts or units as needed
- Maintains regular and reliable attendance
- Performs other duties as assigned
Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:
- Basic Life Support certification is required
- ACLS and PALS are required
- One year of experience preferred
- ASLS certification preferred
