Travel Nurse RN - Med Surg

Job Summary

Fusion Medical Staffing‑Nursing is hiring a Travel RN for a Med Surg assignment in Elko, Nevada. Assignment duration is 10 weeks, starting ASAP, with 36 hours per week on 12‑hour night shifts. This is a travel nursing position.

• One year of recent Med Surg RN experience
• Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
• Current BLS (AHA/ARC) Certification
• Preferred: NIHSS certification, ACLS (AHA/ARC) certification, or other relevant certifications and licenses

• Explain procedures and treatments to patients and families
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in adherence to nursing standards
• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ conditions and document changes
• Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures, assist physicians, and monitor responses
• Maintain a safe and comfortable environment for recovery
• Document comprehensive patient information in the medical record
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to implement individualized care plans
• Manage multiple patients efficiently, prioritizing care based on acuity
• Adhere to infection control practices, hand hygiene, and PPE use
• Advocate for patients’ needs and preferences
• Facilitate discharge planning and coordinate with external resources
• Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice
• Follow hospital safety protocols and regulatory standards

• Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication
• Proficiency in written and spoken English
• Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions; basic PC skills
• Physical abilities: remain stationary, move equipment (50‑100lbs), push, pull, bend
• Interpersonal skills: work effectively with varied personnel; maintain professionalism
• Technical/motor skills: fine manipulation, assist with procedures, operate equipment
• Mental requirements: cope with public contact, meet deadlines, work independently, handle irregular schedules, maintain concentration on details
• Sensory: possess visual acuity and effective communication abilities
