Qualifications and Requirements
- 18 years of age or older.
- Valid driver's license with a safe driving record that meets company standards.
- Access to an insured vehicle that can be used for delivery.
- Navigational skills to read maps, locate addresses within the designated delivery area, and navigate adverse terrain including multi-story buildings.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly (calculator may be used).
- Ability to make correct monetary change.
- Strong verbal, written, and telephone communication skills; capable of giving correct written instructions.
- Motor coordination for rapid and accurate hand movements.
- Proficient in entering orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
- Stock ingredients from the delivery area to storage, work area, and walk-in cooler.
- Receive and process telephone orders.
- Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
- Clean equipment and the facility approximately daily.
- Deliver product by car to customers and perform store deliveries.
- Deliver flyers and door hangers.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Orientation and training provided on the job.
- Communication skills training: ability to give correct written instructions; ability to communicate verbally with customers and coworkers to process orders over the phone and in person.
- Mathematical calculations: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and accurate rapid calculation.
- Accurate monetary change handling.
- Verbal, written, and telephone skills for order taking and processing.
- Precise motor coordination for speed and accuracy.
- Order entry using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
- Map reading and navigation of adverse terrain.
- Varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions when removing trash, performing outside tasks, and delivering product.
- In-store temperatures ranging from 36°F in cooler areas to 90°F and above in other work areas.
- Sudden changes in temperature both inside and outside.
- Fumes from food odors.
- Exposure to cornmeal dust.
- Cramped quarters, including walk-in cooler.
- Hot surfaces/tools up to 500°F or higher.
- Sharp edges and moving mechanical parts.
- Talking and hearing on the telephone.
- Near and mid-range vision for most in-store tasks.
- Depth perception.
- Ability to differentiate between hot and cold surfaces.
- Far vision and night vision for driving.
- Ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work alone and with others, work under stress, meet strict quality control standards, deal with people, analyze and compile data, and make judgements and decisions.
- Standing:
Most tasks performed from a standing position; walking surfaces include ceramic tile “bricks” with linoleum; work surfaces height 36"–48". - Walking:
Short distances for short durations between the store and delivery vehicle, and from the vehicle to the customer’s location. - Sitting:
Paperwork normally completed at a desk or table in an office. - Lifting:
Bulk product deliveries twice a week or more; cases up to 50 pounds with dimensions up to 3’ x 1.5’; cases usually lifted from floor and stacked onto shelves up to 72" high. - Carrying:
Large cans (3 lb 7 oz), occasional 30 lb pizza sauce, trays of pizza dough (~12 lb per tray); carry pizzas and beverages while walking and climbing during delivery. - Pushing:
Move trays on dollies; a stack of trays on a dolly may require up to 7.5 lb push force; trays may also be pulled. - Climbing:
Occasionally navigate stairs or climb a ladder; during delivery, navigate five or more flights of stairs may be required. - Stooping/Bending:
Forward bending at the pizza assembly station for 30–45 seconds at a time, repeated continuously; also at the front counter and during stocking. - Crouching/Squatting:
Occasionally to stock shelves and clean low areas. - Hand Tasks:
Continuous eye‑hand coordination essential; frequent forceful use of forearms and wrists for shaping dough; manipulation of pizza peel, rolling cutter, pinching during box assembly; grasp of cans, phone, pizza cutter, peel, and boxes.
- Deliver product by car to the customer’s door.
- Deliver flyers and door hangers.
