Key Job Responsibilities- Consistently adhere to all safety policies and procedures to create and maintain a safe and hazard-free workplace environment.
- Collaborate with certified Welders and Mechanics by providing hands-on assistance during welding, cutting, and repair operations, including air arcing and complex layout tasks requiring attention to detail and precision.
- Support the troubleshooting, maintenance, and minor repair of essential equipment such as wire feeders and welding machines, ensuring tools are ready and reliable for daily operations.
- Engage actively in task-specific training modules to build competencies aligned with emerging responsibilities and company standards.
- Perform general shop upkeep, including cleaning and organizing work areas to support operational efficiency and safety.
- Monitor raw and in-process materials carefully to minimize waste and spoilage, maintaining cost efficiency standards.
- Contribute as a proactive team member, communicating effectively and assisting peers and supervisors as required to meet production and safety goals.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting practical safety and process enhancements grounded in daily work experience.
- Be adaptable to varying job duties, including field services, to support equipment maintenance and repair across multiple projects and locations.
Technical Skills and
Certifications:
- Completion or in-progress completion of task training for Forklift operation, Sand Blast Booth, Fire Extinguisher usage, Confined Space entry, Lockout/Tagout procedures (LOTO), Fall Protection systems, and Hex chromium handling.
- Ability to safely and effectively use hand and power tools relevant to welding and mechanical repair tasks.
- Basic understanding of welding and cutting techniques along with the disposition to learn more advanced methods under supervision.
Physical Demands:
- This role involves moderate to high physical activity including frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of materials ranging from light to moderate weights.
- Tasks require sustained postures such as kneeling, bending, climbing ladders or steps, overhead reaching, and balancing during equipment handling and repair procedures.
- Candidates need to maintain the endurance to perform repetitive motions and static postures as dictated by task requirements.
Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Requirements:
- Possession of a current MSHA certification and a valid driver s license.
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and meet physical demands of the position.
