Cortez - Pit Maintenance Technician - Drill and Shovel

Are you a Maintenance Technician ready for career growth? Nevada Gold Mines (NGM) offers a role as an Open Pit Drill & Shovel Maintenance Technician at our Cortez operations. The position focuses on performing routine maintenance on large mining equipment fleets to ensure safe and reliable operation.

• Complete routine maintenance activities to ensure the availability and safe functioning of large mining and support equipment fleets.
• Maintain shop areas, tooling, and service vehicles to ensure a clean and safe work environment.
• Perform daily pre‑shift work inspections and participate in hazard identification processes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Two (2) plus years of experience in maintenance of mobile, farm, trucking, aircraft, military, or support equipment preferred.
• Basic knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics, and pneumatics required.
• Ability to work safely and effectively with minimal supervision.
• Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of people.
• Experience handling tires preferred.
• Ability to accomplish strenuous physical labor under all weather conditions.
• Lift at least 50 lbs. required.
• Proven safe work record with a commitment to the courageous leadership model.
• Ability to be a team member in a growing, fast‑paced environment, supporting safety, environmental, equipment protection, and production goals.
• Housekeeping standards are maintained to a high level.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• The ability to work a rotating schedule of nights and days is an essential function of this role.
