Field Service Technician – Nevada

Sandvik Mining is looking for a Field Service Technician in Nevada. The position covers work at multiple mine sites including Elko, Winnemucca, and Battle Mountain, encompassing underground and surface operations.

The role is essential for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining the mechanical and electrical components of underground mining equipment, as well as commissioning new equipment and providing training to customers.

• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults on medium/high voltage equipment, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems on heavy equipment.
• Inspect equipment to ensure proper performance, determine faults, and replace defective parts or components according to scopes of work.
• Test repaired equipment to confirm operational performance.
• Maintain accurate time records, technical reports, failure reports, and parts lists.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and stay current with industry, customer, and product developments.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers to ensure smooth operations and satisfaction.
• Ensure compliance with Sandvik, customer, state, and federal safety policies, including MSHA standards.
• Work underground and on the surface safely, independently when required, and follow company safety protocols.

• Minimum five years of experience or equivalent education in mechanical and/or electrical troubleshooting on medium/high voltage equipment.
• Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems on heavy equipment.
• Ability to interpret diagnostics from advanced onboard systems.
• Knowledge of ISO standards; driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Preferred: technical certification or diploma in mechanical or electrical fields, or a minimum of seven years of industry experience.
• Experience working on mining equipment.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and customer‑service skills.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints and equipment schematics.
• Self‑motivated, flexible, and safety‑focused; able to work alone and stop work if required.

Pay range: $33.00–$36.00 per hour, with eligibility for overtime and holiday pay.

Current schedule: five days a week, occasionally up to 16 hours per day with possibility of a four‑day week schedule.
