Field Service Technician

Field Service Technician – Nevada

Three open roles:
Elko (Nevada Gold Mine) and the Winnemucca / Battle Mountain area. Focus on the Nevada/Utah market.

Elko, NV (Nevada Gold Mine) and Winnemucca / Battle Mountain area.

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical and/or electrical aspects of underground mining equipment and components.
• Conduct new equipment commissioning and train customers at sites with minimal supervision.
• Inspect equipment to ensure proper performance and determine faults and malfunctions.
• Adjust equipment and repair/replace defective parts, components, or systems according to scopes of work.
• Test repaired equipment to ensure proper operational performance.
• Complete accurate time records, technical reports, failure reports, and parts lists.
• Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Stay current with industry, customer, product developments, and technical best practices.
• Build strong relationships with internal and external customers to ensure smooth operations and satisfaction.
• Ensure compliance with all Sandvik, customer, state, and federal regulatory safety policies.
• Provide customer satisfaction within the area of primary responsibility.
• Work underground and surface; be comfortable with these conditions.
• Use a company-provided vehicle for limited travel.

Minimum qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience or education in mechanical and/or electrical troubleshooting on medium/high voltage equipment.
• Knowledge and experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems on heavy equipment.
• Ability to interpret diagnostics from advanced onboard systems to pinpoint faults.
• Understanding of and conformity to ISO standards.
• Driver's license and clean driving record.

Preferred qualifications

• Technical certification or diploma in mechanical or electrical fields or a minimum of 7 years of industry-related experience.
• Experience working on mining equipment.
• Strong teamwork, excellent communication and active listening skills.
• Flexibility and self‑motivation, with a drive to achieve customer satisfaction.
• Safety champion capable of working alone and stopping work if required.
• Familiarity with MSHA standards.
• Excellent troubleshooting ability with strong diagnostic and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a customer‑service based personality.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret equipment schematics.

Pay range is $33.00 to $36.00 per hour and is eligible for overtime and holiday pay.

Current schedule is five days a week, occasionally up to 16 hours a day, with the possibility to move to a four‑day schedule.
