Properties Repairperson

Job Summary

Perform preventive and repair maintenance as required on building and production machinery. Paint, clean, move furniture, change lamps, clean air‑conditioning duct grills, store and stock facility parts, unclog commodes, urinals, and sinks, and clean kitchen grease filters and traps as needed. Perform other maintenance duties as directed.

• Performs preventive maintenance and repairs as directed on equipment and systems including lighting, electrical power distribution, air lines, natural gas lines, hot water heating lines, domestic hot and cold‑water lines, drainage lines, fire sprinkler systems, shop equipment, air handlers, fan coil units, evaporative coolers, lavatory fixtures, building hardware, furniture, gates, fences, hoists, pumps, motors, and shop oil supply lines.
• Responds to all reasonable service requests and remains alert to other tasks that need to be done.
• Works safely at all times, adhering to all applicable safety policies and complying with all company policies, procedures, and standards.

• Maintains good housekeeping, proper safety practices, and safe work conditions.
• Makes recommendations for improvements to safety practices and housekeeping.
• Develops new skills including repair of furniture, sinks, valves, and drains as required by the supervisor.
• Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on building and production machinery.
• Completes other duties as requested by the supervisor.
• Works within and promotes corporate values.

• Willing to work overtime, weekends, and any shift.
• Willing to maintain strict security of the total energy plant engine room and the complete facility.
• Willing to care for assigned tools and equipment, and acquire personal hand tools to perform job duties.
• Possesses interpersonal skills sufficient to work with all personnel professionally.
• Can comprehend service manuals and maintain timecards.
• Can learn electrical circuitry, plumbing, carpentry, air handlers, and controls.
• Can maintain consistent attendance.

• Previous experience repairing facilities and equipment.
• Knowledge of building construction and maintenance trades.
• Valid driver license.
• Proof of high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write) in English.

• Regularly required to stand and walk; frequently required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop and kneel.
• Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, reach outward, reach above shoulder, and lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
• Occasionally required to sit, talk, hear, climb, crawl, squat or kneel, bend, and smell.
• Specific vision abilities include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
• This position is designated a Safety‑Sensitive Position.

• Exposed to outdoor weather and extreme heat or cold.
• Frequently exposed to high precarious places.
• Occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions, toxic or caustic chemicals, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, vibration, and an indoor controlled environment.
• Noise level usually moderate.
